As reported in the Virgo logbook, the NI laser died. EGO people are coming to pick up the spare CO2 laser. Before their arrival, I had time to use our beam profiler. Here are some comments:

  • the hardware is ready to be used
  • software installation is quick and works very fine also in Windows Vista
  • need to force computer IP to be close to that of the profiler
  • analisys software is rather easy to use
  • intensity distribution data can be exported in Excel format and then in TAB delimited text
