Calibration AOM 1 and AOM 2 Empty Calibration AOM 1 and AOM 2

The goal of these topic is to calibrate the Acoustic Optic Modulator (AOM). The output of the AOM is composed of two beam (order zero and one) that we observed to the change of the angle of incidence beam (beam in).

We measured the power of the beam out as function of angle of incidence beam; in particular we measured the power of the order zero. The angle has been measured by means of graduate scale positioned under the AOM.

The driver is used (Driver 2) to the maximum power with no input signal to the input connector. The modulator has been positioned in the outside of the laser lab.

We did these measures with the Polarizator and without it.

AOM 2:

The efficiency is around 70 % (Power of order one rispect to total power).
The effect of the Polarizer is null concern the efficiency of the AOM.

AOM 1:

We can see as the AOM 1 is more efficiency than AOM 2.
