Aberrations due to telescopes
Together with E. Genin, we analized the aberrations introduced by the telescopes. We found that the telscope is rather critical and the beam gets a lot of spherical aberration (see picture).
The problem is that the wave front of the beam is critical for the ROC of the second lens of the telescope, due to the very small focal length of the first lens. There are a few ways to correct this effect:
1) increase the focal length of the first lens, but magnification of the telescope decreases (see figure below with a nice beam shape with 25.4mm FL)
2) use two telescopes to do the same job (I'll try this out with Zemax)
